About this event

As we dive into the final months of the year, our next event is focused on some challenges we all face - how do you manage and share data across the organization and how do you estimate work on your projects? Our presenters this month are traveling across the great Atlantic pond to speak to you on managing and sharing data in Confluence and agile estimation in practice.

Managing and Sharing Data on Confluence - Martin Farley, GlaxoSmithKline

When Confluence becomes your data and knowledge repository, how do you manage and share the different types of data in your wiki? How do you effectively collaborate, search, present, and export this data? Martin will present various Confluence data management solutions, outline pros/cons of add-ons/apps and strategies to select the best approach for your wiki needs.

Martin has been using Confluence since around 2007 and, in that time, he has been an administrator, collaboration manager, project lead and consultant on several Confluence instances and projects. He has particularly been focused on how to integrate Confluence with other systems and how to align its usage with bespoke business processes.

Agile Estimation in Practice - Jacek Wizmur and Pawel Mazur, Spartez

All of us have heard jokes about developers and managers discussing estimations and expectations. Jacek and Pawel will share different approaches to the hard problem of agile estimation for planning. They will cover approaches such as Planning Poker and Relative Estimation, especially for colocated or distributed teams and using tools such as the Agile Estimates Jira plugin. As you plan those final sprints in Q4, this talk will surely help you answer the management question - "So, how long will that take"?

As always, outside of these topics and talks, we'll have food, drinks and plenty of networking opportunities; and maybe even a prize or two.

A waitlist will be activated once we reach capacity.
